The Modlite Diffuser and Filter Cap consists of the optic assembly and clamping ring. The installed diffuser turns the intense hot spot of the weapon light into a smooth 40 degree flood for close range illumination. Close range flood illumination is often necessary for administrative tasks or small room lighting when 50,000+ Candela is too intense. This system is particularly useful for helmet mounted lighting applications because the current solution to diffuse a helmet light is to angle the light to a ceiling--This "umbrella lighting" solution is often too dim and/or dependent on your location relative to a ceiling.
Every Modlite Diffuser Cap comes with a Diffusers and Filters bundle. Each bundle comes with a small retaining ring tool to remove the stock diffuser and install a new optic. Interchangeable diffuser and filter installation:
- Insert the semi-circular tool (in your diffusers and filters bag) into the slots of the retaining ring.
- Press down firmly and unscrew the retaining ring (be sure to slowly unscrew while pressing down so your tool does not damage the retaining ring slots.)
- Remove the current diffuser or filter from the flashlight cap.
- Insert your new diffuser or filter and press down ensuring it is flush against the base of the cap.
- Reinstall the retaining ring by screwing it in with the same tool semi-circular tool (be sure to slowly and firmly reinstall the retaining ring so your tool does not damage the retaining ring slots AND/OR cross thread the retaining ring).
- Once the retaining ring is hand snug, your cap is ready to be fielded.
Interchangeable Diffuser and Filter Information:
- 40° Diffuser: Large flood illumination. Great for helmet lighting applications. No discernible hot spot.
- 15° Diffuser: Intense flood Illumination. Great for longer range administrative tasks. No discernible hot spot.
- Yellow Filter: Filters out blue wavelengths. Great for illuminating through fog, dust or snow.
- Amber filter: Filters out blue and green wavelengths. Great for illuminating through fog, dust or snow. Preserves natural night vision.
- Red Filter: Filters out all wavelengths except red. Great for preserving natural night vision. Dim, covert illumination.
- Green Filter: Filters out all wavelengths except green. Activates the most sensitive color receptors in your eye while dimming your weapon light.
- Attenuator: Dims your weapon light to 1/5th its regular intensity. Great for low profile illumination while maintaining the a hot spot.
- Blackout Filter: Blocks all visible wavelengths emitting from your weapon light. The Matte surface blocks specular reflection.

Notes and Disclaimers
The Modlite Diffuser and Filter Cap is for current generation Modlites ONLY. This cap has very specific dimensions for Modlite Weapon Lights to properly seal the light for optimal diffuser/filter performance.
You may notice that this light cap is thicker than other external light, diffuser, or filter caps--this is so the optics that are installed do not scratch on the light bezel when being flipped on or off.
Diffusers, Color Filters and Attenuators will not give the same candela or lumen output when over your device.
This product has no approval or affiliation with the company of Modlite. Modlite products are not included with this package. Any weapon lights seen in product photography are examples for the product.
